Every year on July 18, the English mission parish at the Synodal Headquarters in New York City celebrates its patronal feast day on the memorial of the finding of the holy relics of Venerable Sergius of Radonezh.

On Wednesday the 8th and Thursday the 9th of July, Bishop Jerome paid an archpastoral visit to Our Lady of Tikhvin Church in Howell, NJ, where he led the divine services for the parish’s patronal feast.

On Monday the 6th and Tuesday the 7th of July, the feast of the Nativity of the Holy Prophet, Forerunner, and Baptizer of the Lord John, His Grace Nicholas, Bishop of Manhattan, paid an archpastoral visit to St. John the Baptist Cathedral in Mayfield, PA, and led the divine services for the parish’s patronal feast day.

Very interesting times have come, beloved brethren! They are interesting because, if you were to compare our contemporary world with that which existed in Mother Russia before, then we see an almost total inverse.

People who are familiar with and know the order of our Orthodox divine services (Typikon) know that these services often utilize prokeimena. This Greek name denotes any text from the Holy Scripture that has a particularly close relationship to any given feast day.

When festal Vespers are served jointly with Matins, they are called the "All-Night Vigil." Small Vespers are generally not served independently, but only on those days when the All-Night Vigil is served

Titus was also one of the closest disciples of the Apostle Paul. The epistle to him is not long, but nonetheless joins the ranks of pastoral epistles. There are many parallels between it and similar instructions that we find in the Epistle to Timothy
